About Us
Cal•Graf Design began as a “mom & pop” shop in 1996, an expanded version of the company which was originally a design and advertising business started in 1987.
Roy had served as foreman for Shiloh Rifle Manufacturing for 15 years, and after suffering a heart attack in 1994 decided on a new direction . . . among old friends. Having been part of the shooting industry since 1978 and desiring to still serve that community, he took his talents in gun making and metal work to woodworking, creating new products many of you have come to enjoy on the range, even in your living rooms.
Here in these pages–whether you’re a Blackpowder Silhouette Shooter or are whooping it up in Cowboy Action–we think you’ll find most everything you’ll need to protect your firearms, enhance their safe use, or show off your investment in between matches. Cal•Graf Design has become the source for old-world-style craftsmanship, our classic dovetail joinery the mark of our dedication to excellence.
We are committed to you, our customer, and strive to exceed your expectation in each hand-crafted piece that you order, most all are one of a kind. Thank you for your trust in us, for spending your hard-earned dollar with us. As always, you may reach us from 9:00 am -5:30 pm MST, Monday thru Friday. 800-367-5203

Dear Sir,
I am an avid ice fisherman who is finally returning to the North and eventually retiring from the US Army. I have acquired a 78″ wooden sled and the thought of placing polymer containers upon it makes me ill. I light of this I am inquiring on the potential construction of two oak ice fishing gear boxes. One of these boxes would be used as an open gear box with no internal dividers necessary for a variety of gear. However for the second box I am seeking would consist of a tackle storage box with divided lift out top shelf and a 4 compartment bottom. The exterior dimensions of these boxes would be the same at 36″ L x 20″ W, 20″ H. Since their use would be in conditions consisting of ice, slush and snow, I would also like to inquire on a marine grade varnish finish to protect the wood and its joints. I am developing a schematic for the boxes and may certainly provide it if this project is one you may consider. Thank you for your consideration and kindest regards,
Sincerely and most respectfully,
Craig W. Johnson
